OVERVIEW
This 1974 Honda CB750 was purchased new in Indiana and remained there with its original owner until being acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. Finished in Boss Maroon Metallic, this example shows just 4,000 miles and benefits from recent comprehensive servicing, including work on the engine, carburetors, and braking system.
Powered by a 736cc SOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed transmission, the CB750 delivers the smooth performance and distinctive four-cylinder exhaust note that defined a generation of superbikes. Both kick and electric starters are present, and the bike retains its factory four-into-four chrome exhaust system.
EXTERIOR & EQUIPMENT
The fuel tank and side covers are finished in Boss Maroon Metallic with black, gold, and white graphics. Features include chrome fenders, dual mirrors, street lighting, a rear grab bar, and a black vinyl two-up seat with a passenger strap. Both center and side stands are equipped.
Originality is maintained throughout, with minor patina visible — including light oxidation on brightwork and aging in the paint, consistent with its long-term preservation.
CHASSIS & SUSPENSION
The 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels were fitted with new Kenda Challenger tires during recent servicing. Suspension components include a conventional telescopic fork with black gaiters and twin partially shrouded chrome shocks mounted to the swingarm.
Braking is provided by a front disc and rear drum setup, with both the front master cylinder and caliper rebuilt in preparation for the sale.
INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLS
Instrumentation by Nippon Denso includes a 150-mph speedometer, tachometer, and integrated indicator lights within the handlebar riser. The five-digit odometer shows 4,000 miles.
ENGINE & RECENT SERVICE
The 736cc SOHC inline-four was factory rated at 67 horsepower and is equipped with both kick and electric starters and four Keihin carburetors.
Service performed in preparation for the sale included:
Adjusting cam chain tension, valve clearances, and ignition timing
Cleaning and synchronizing the carburetors
Replacing battery, spark plugs, air filter, and fuel petcock
Performing an oil change
Overhauling the front brake system
The result is a strong-running, smooth-shifting example of Honda’s legendary CB series.
